Regular Incognito vocalists Maysa, Joy Rose, Tony Momrelle and Vanessa Haynes are all featured. Airplay favourites are the band’s excellent version of Boz Scaggs’ “Lowdown”, with vocals by Chaka Khan and Mario Biondi, and “1975”, the story of Bluey’s introduction to jazz and soul music, with stunning vocals by Joy Rose. Eric performed five Prince tunes at the date on May 29, and was joined onstage by the UK’s Alice Russell.  In the past he has headlined Jazz Cafe tributes to Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson.

Dome Records is pleased to announce the signing of Drizabone Soul Family.

The band is led by Billy Freeman, one of the original Drizabone line-up who enjoyed success with “Real Love” in the Nineties.

The two principal vocalists on the new project are Anneka Johnson and Nataya, but there are five lead vocalists in all featured on the album, titled “All The Way”, which is produced and co-written by Freeman.

It includes a brand new version of “Real Love”. Release date for the album (Dome CD 305) is July 5, preceded by a single “I Fell Apart” on June 28. A number of live dates by the band will be announced shortly.

The musical, “I Dream”, will premiere in Atlanta on July 3 and will run until July 31. It is an inspirational and entertaining look at the civil rights icon from his childhood to his assassination.

Avery says: “It truly is a masterpiece and I am honoured to have been offered a part in it”.

Anthony David is currently in Nashville finishing up his third album.   Title will be ‘As Above, So Below’ and features Algebra and Phonte guesting on one track.

Out May 10th will be the delicious new album from Avery Sunshine.  Avery just got back from Los Angeles where she performed for Chaka Khan.

Also currently in Los Angeles is Bluey, recording a number of special guests for the forthcoming Incognito (30th Anniversary) album.

Many people have asked if the Eric Roberson acoustic version of the Michael Jackson song “Rock With You” is available commercially.   It was originally recorded for a session for the Chris Philips show on London’s Choice FM when Eric visited the UK last October, but you can now find it on a newly compilation “Soul Acoustic”, just released via iTunes in the UK and Europe.
