After completing her album “A Woman’s Touch” in 2008, Angela Johnson decided on a return to a more up-tempo, dance-oriented direction for her fourth album. The result is her new album “It’s Personal”, which is out now!

Angela’s songwriting collaborators include Josh Milan of Blaze (their song “On The Radio” is his first ever R&B production) and fellow Dome artist Eric Roberson, with whom she has shared a stage on many occasions, notably at London’s IndigO2. Their song is appropriately titled “Indie In Me”.

Also included is the dancefloor hit “Better”, a recent single release, with remixes from Italy’s Micky More, which has attracted superlatives from UK and European DJs and served as an appetiser for the full length album.

Of the album’s title, she says: “I wanted to connect with my audience on a more personal level and reveal more of my inner thoughts and feelings. I wanted to share my experiences of being a wife, mother, daughter and sister, who’s also an independent recording artist, singer-songwriter and producer, who struggles to maintain balance in her life. That was a mouthful! Well, that’s how the album title ‘It’s Personal’ came to be”.

Two further solo albums have followed, “Got To Let It Go” and “A Woman’s Touch Vol 1” – with featured guests including Rahsaan Patterson, Maysa, Eric Roberson and Frank McComb.

1. Only One
2. Hurts Like Hell
3. Be Myself
4. Better
5. Indie In Me
6. On The Radio
7. All In Me (feat Darien)
8. Get Myself Together
9. For You
10. It’s Personal
11. Days

As with previous volumes, Disc Three focuses primarily on more up-tempo soulful dancefloor grooves, with cuts from Erro (the Joey Negro Mix of “Change For Me”), Tortured Soul, Bah Samba, Haggis Horns (“The Traveller Part 2”) and Sunlight Square, among others.

Following the success of the earlier volumes, this sixth visit to the Soul Lounge – more than 3 hours of music on 3 CDs at a special price – is certain to find favour with those who like their soul and R&B with a touch of class.

‘I’m a singer and a songwriter….but I’m a music fan first’, says America’s #1 independent soul/R&B singer Eric Roberson. And ‘Music Fan First’ just happens to be the title of Eric’s new album, the long-awaited follow-up to his 2007 album ‘Left’. Look for it from August 24 in stores or at your favourite online or digital store.

With guests including Lalah Hathaway, Wayna and T3 from hip-hop group Slum Village, this looks like being the New Jersey singer’s most successful album to date.

He visits the UK to headline two Michael Jackson Tribute nights at a venue he knows very well, London’s Jazz Café, on August 29 and 30, and returns with his band for a 5-date UK tour in October. The tour takes in Cardiff, London, Birmingham and Manchester.

One of the stand-out songs on the album, ‘Bad For Me’, was co-written with UK producer Colin Emmanuel (who has previously worked with Beverley Knight and Jamelia, among others). They met when Eric used Colin’s studio for some radio interviews on a previous London visit. Another highlight is the dance cut ‘Wanna Believe It Again’ featuring Wayna and the stunning duet with Lalah Hathaway titled ‘’Dealing’.

Dome CD 100 is the easy-to-remember catalogue number for this stunning 17-song album. Pre-order it now.
