Carleen Anderson – Soul Providence
DOMECD59
‘Soul Providence’ is a joyful, soulful new album from Carleen Anderson.
Formerly the voice of the Young Disciples, and for a couple of years the voice of the Brand New Heavies, with three solo albums to her name prior to this new offering.
Having written every song herself – with the exception of a fine new rendering of Leon Ware’s Wanna Be Where You Are, sung with her good friend Paul Weller, the album also has Nichol Thomson and Dominic Glover, and sax player Ben Castle – better known as the Incognito Horn players.
She may have taken exploratory musical detours in the past, but Carleen is firmly back in the soul arena and the result is there for everyone to hear.
