Birmingham band FULL FLAVA revisit the heyday of soul and disco with this stunning new set (their third Dome album) which brings together new treatments of some dancefloor classics.
The line-up of guest vocalists from both sides of the Atlantic would be hard to beat: Chicago’s Chantay Savage brings a whole new feel to EWF’s ‘September’, and New York-based Incognito/Count Basic vocalist Kelli Sae launches herself into Patti Labelle’s ‘Music Is My Way of Life’ and Jenny Burton’s ‘Bad Habit’, with Ce Ce Peniston re-visiting the Brand New Heavies hit ‘You Are The Universe’.
Other superb tracks on this album include Beverlei Brown returns with an Eighties dancefloor winner ‘I Specialize In Love’and Carleen Anderson is the PERFECT vocalist to breathe new life into Jean Carne’s bittersweet Philly classic ‘Was That All It Was’. Incognito’s Joy Rose brings a new energy to the Terri Wells Philly hit ‘You Make It Heaven’, and Donna Gardier has 2 contrasting tracks – a stunning new take on the Change/Luther Vandross anthem ‘The Glow of Love’ and an intimate, acoustic treatment of the Four Tops’ hit ‘Lovin’ You Is Sweeter Than Ever’.
