When Incognito made their first recordings in 1979 Jean-Paul Maunick – known to one and all as Bluey – remembers sitting next to the mix engineer getting high on the music and thinking to himself “I hope this will be a long lasting project that will take us places”. In 2004 they celebrated their 25th year with a new album – their tenth studio album – titled “Adventures In Black Sunshine”.

The 14-song new album sees the return of Maysa Leak, a long time favourite of Incognito fans, who sings on seven cuts. There are also several stand-out instrumentals such as “The World Is Mine” and “Mindin My Business” ,with a keyboard cameo from George Duke, and a nod to the heyday of jazz-funk, when Bluey and the band were just starting out.

In a world of manufactured bands and a commercially driven music industry where creativity and individuality are rare, Incognito continue to take their soulful blend of jazz and funk across the globe.
